About the Nation Ford Swim Team

The Nation Ford High School Swim Team is a high school fall-only (Aug-Oct) swim team that competes against other SC high school teams. All rising 7th – 12th grade students zoned for Nation Ford High School are eligible to try out for the team.

Qualification for the team is determined by over-all skill level, sportsmanship, work ethic, commitment and attitude. The staff looks at all aspects of competitive swimming, including stroke technique, starts, turns, and over-all endurance level. The final team is determined by the end of the first week of practice. Participation in summer swim programs or year-round swim programs is highly encouraged to prepare for tryouts.

Upon qualifying for the team, swim practice attendance is mandatory. The high school swim season is extremely short, and every practice is essential for the development of the individual, as well as the team.

Nation Ford Home Meets are held at the Fort Mill Aquatic Center pool. Please reference the Upcoming Events section of our Home Page to see all scheduled meets.

Home meets are run 100% with parent volunteers! Volunteer jobs include lane timers, stroke/turn judges, scorekeepers, runners, etc. Parents should plan to volunteer for at least 4 meets during the swim season.

The high school swim season is a fast paced 3-month period! Our goal is for everyone to have a great experience, make new friends and swim their best!

Let’s make our 2026 season the best yet!

GO FALCONS!
